The Challenge
iWHELD have been creating a revolutionary programme for the care sector, based on 20+ years of valuable knowledge. Their ongoing mission being to empower and support people living with dementia in care homes. The challenge they were facing was making the programme look and feel as valuable as the content it contained, and making sure it felt accessible to an industry that is often overworked and understaffed.
The Solution
What started as a simple asset creation brief soon turned into a brand and TOV uplift that put the care industry at the heart of the work. Effectively laying strong foundations across ever touchpoint iWHELD had. We worked hard with the team to ensure the visuals and language across all of these assets reflected the value of the programme while keeping it accessible to people who are time poor, and may speak English as a second language.
Did we unlock potential?
Yes. The marketing and brand work we created, contributed to the increase of care home sign ups from 13 to 149. Leading to approx. 500 care staff members receiving support in their roles, and over 700 people living with dementia reaping the benefits.
The platform
After this branding process was carried we were over the moon to be able to collaborate again and deliver the digital side of the project. A fresh new brand, killer copy and a well-designed, well-built website that is going to help people across the UK when they are in need coping with dementia. Ultimately an amazing project to be involved with and the result speaks for itself.
Prior to any creative work taking place, we carried out full technical audits and site crawls of the existing sites to inform the number of pages and redirects that would need to take place. In addition to this, we also reviewed analytical data to heavily inform us on how users were interacting with the website and the most popular journeys. Having worked across the sites for a number of years, we already had a good insight to this area of activity, but a fresh review always helps.
Alongside the branding project, we restructured the site content with a human focus on users, but also a technical focus on search success and visibility. Once the branding was agreed on, it meant we could start the creative part of our process and visualise how the site would look and feel.
Whilst implementing the new brand into a fresh and exciting user interface, we also had to ensure it answered user needs. The site covers a wide range of services and content so it is vital users have the ability to navigate easily and clearly. The first stage in answering this was to restructure and develop the navigation, which opens out into a comprehensive half screen menu. On the homepage of the site you can easily enter into one of the 6 goals either from the primary navigation, the missions prompt or the supporting block below. Making it easy for users to access specific content that answers their needs and ultimately leads them to getting the support they need from iWheld.
Following the development of the platform, the next piece of work focused on designing the Admin Dashboard, a central hub for monitoring engagement, training completion, and resource usage across the iWHELD platform. The aim was to give coaches a clear, data-driven view of how user were interacting with the training modules and keep track with each one of them. Each screen visualises key metrics through simple charts and structured tables, allowing quick comparisons and actionable insights. We designed the interface to feel calm, consistent with the branding, and easy to navigate, maintaining the same visual language established in the platform while adapting it for data-heavy content.
Lastly, we helped launch the product as a mobile app, providing users with easy access to the training and resources from anywhere. Post-launch, our focus has been on ensuring stability, accessibility, and smooth performance across devices, allowing iWheld to reach and support more care home staff. This has been a rewarding project to be part of, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration as the platform evolves and grows.
